When one experiment ends it is very likely that there will be another group waiting and ready to do some more science on XPDF. To help with the changover process there are some important points that we would like to highlight in advance of your beamtime. Most of these are outlined in the "Beamline Policy" section. Before you depart please check that;
- All of your samples are packed to be taken off site with you when you leave.
- All of your equipment and chemicals are boxed up ready for collection by courier at a later date.
- You have disposed of any gloves, bench protectors and waste through the appropriate route.
...
- Your visit ends at 09.00 - At this time all of your samples and equipment must be packed away from all areas of the beamline. This includes the experiemntal hutch, control room and any peripheral labs.
- Some time may be required to configure the beamline - Whilst we try our best to have the beamline set up in advance of your visit, this is not always possible.
- All samples should be removed from the site at the end of the visit
- The user is expected to arrange for the collection of equipment and chemicals through a courier of their choice from Diamond Goods Handling- Keep your local contact informed so they can transport the containers to the goods handling office when required. See "Shipping Goods to Diamond" for further information.
- Chemicals and materials are not provided as standard - Users are expected to provide all chemcials (either shipped or ordered to Diamond) for their experiment. Whilst we may be able to access some more standard chemicals (e.g. HCl, IPA etc.), it is advised that the user checks the availability of chemicals with their local contact well in advance of their visit and, wherever possible, provides their own supply. Additional information regarding available lab equipment can be found in the "Peripheral Labs" section of the "Beamline Information" page.
