Easy Access

Easy access is our alternative mail-in route, and is the second quickest way to access the beamline. This runs alongside the standard proposal period, and therefore will be submitted as a standard proposal in the UAS, however the “consider this as easy access” option must be ticked.

For an experiment to be considered easy access, it must:

• <8 hours/1 shift of beamtime

  • This is approximately 20 samples at room temperature

  • Or 10 samples with temperatures applied

• Can be run by beamline staff unattended

  • This means that the sample is well packed, does not move out of the beam or has a significant change during the experiment
