Before you start
Contact EHC
- Pick the phone, dial 8787;
- Speak to the EHC team and let them know that you are about to start your lone-working session now.
Pre-experiment setup
- Read the log from the green folder, making sure that there are no instrumentation problems reported by the previous user and that the microscope is ready for new experiments;
- Log in to the remote control computer with your Fed ID (e.g. clrc\abc00000) and password;
- Start all the needed remote desktops (e.g. View, TEM Center, Gatan, Cosmo, Merlin, EDS???);
- Check the vacuum values of all the pumps from TEM Center;
- Start data synchronisation with your session number (instruction available on the wall or here[link???])
After you finish

The green ERA form must be signed and displayed on the noticeboard outside the control room before beginning your experiment. |
- Log into the control room computers using your FED ID and password (these are the same details you use to log into the UAS).
- Set up the data-dispenser if required.
- Open the required remote desktops.
