This page shows four graphs showing the bunch-by-bunch min/max, difference, mean, and standard deviation for the selected port and channel. This screen is available for ADC and DAC on both X/Y or I/Q channels.
The following graphs are shown on this screen. Each PV name is prefixed with $(device):$(axis):$(part)
where $(part)
is either ADC
or DAC
depending on the data source.
Title | PVs | Description |
---|---|---|
Min/Max |
| Shows minimum and maximum value for each bunch over the sample period (configurable by setting :MMS:SCAN_S.SCAN and measured by :MMS:TURNS ). |
Difference | :MMS:DELTA | Shows the difference MAX-MIN . This is the most direct measurement of bunch motion. |
Mean | :MMS:MEAN | Shows the average bunch position over the sample period. |
Standard Deviation | :MMS:STD | Shows the standard deviation of the bunch motion over the sample period. This is a slightly more sophisticated measurement of bunch motion than :MMS:DELTA , which does not show outliers. |
At the bottom of this screen we have the following indicators:
PV | Description |
---|---|
:MMS:TURNS | This shows the number of turns used to sample the currently displayed graph. |
:MMS:MEAN_MEAN | This is the average of the position of all bunches over the sample period. |
:MMS:STD_MEAN, :MMS:STD_MEAN_DB | This shows the average value of :MMS:STD , which can be used as a measurement of overall beam motion. The value is also available as a logarithm in dB. |
:MMS:OVERFLOW | This status indicator should always read "Ok". If any other value is indicated then a measurement error has occurred, probably due to a system misconfiguration. Any fault will remain shown until :MMS:RESET_FAULT_S is processed. |
