Check the stream is a raw stream

The default stream is a jpeg stream which is a compressed image stream - this can make the contrast of your images appear off. See below on how to create a new raw stream in GDA. The jpeg stream also prevents drawing of annotations.

  1. Press the Cameras button (2) to open up a new stream

  2. Change the dropdown options to imaging camera

  3. Change the stream to Epics PV Access

  4. Connect and check sample

Check the stream histogram

Make sure that the range is suitable and if the range is locked . If it is unlocked it will update with each frame. If it is locked it will compress the stream. This does not affect capture data.
