Imaging stream initialization problems
Check the imaging stream in GDA:
The imaging stream may look like either of these two options.
If the stream looks like above and the frame number is updating then the camera is on but there is no beam.
Open the shutter
Check the beam selector
If the frame number is not updating:
Check stream is on
This is the imaging stream receiving the imaging beam (above).
Check that the sample is in the FOV
Check that the camera stream is on.
The Frame number should be updating. If not then the imaging camera is not turned on.
Turn on camera stream (1)
Press the button (labelled 1. on image below).
If it is red call BL staff.
If it does not respond wait for 30 seconds and try again
If still does not turn on and is not red. Restart GDA [LINK]
Initiate a new camera (2)
This should open a new window.
Using stream drop down select EPICS PV Access and press connect. Once you click connect, you should see a live stream.
Check the Shutter is Open
If the Shutter fails to open check the issuehttps://diamondlightsource.atlassian.net/wiki/x/AQDlRg
Check the beam selector is set to correct beam.
The top drop-down field (user selection) and the bottom field (read back/actual beam) can become out of sync. (eg. Top says imaging but readback says diffraction).
To resync - set the drop down menu to the same as the read back value and then again use the drop down menu to select the beam of choice.
Check that the exposure time is set correctly.
If the exposure is too high, the detector will max out (65K pixel count for imaging). This is not good for either detector so stop ASAP. If it is too low then the image will appear black.
Check your sample in the correct position.
Rotate sample 180 degrees using GTS theta – the sample should appear in the view
Check base-X is set to GTS position
Check the sample height is correct. Use the laser as a guide.
