I15-1 General Information
Here you will find some general information about the I15-1 beamline at Diamond Light Source.
Beamline Overview
The beamline is a high-energy scattering beamline designed specifically for performing total scattering and pair distribution function studies.
Energies / Wavelengths
I15-1 operates using a single-bounce monochromator, so we’re restricted to three pre-defined energies:
Energy / keV | Wavelength / Å |
|---|---|
40.05 | 0.309574 |
65.40 | 0.189578 |
76.69 | 0.161669 |
Detector
I15-1 uses a Perkin Elmer detector:
Perkin Elmer XRD 4343 CT; 2880 x 2880 pixels; 150 µm pixel size
Collection Times
Whilst the amount of time required for a data collection depends on many factors, we typically estimate that a good quality PDF data set can be collected in 10 minutes.
Sample Environments
The beamline is equipped with a wide range of sample environments.
Capillaries
We strongly encourage all users to use the capillaries supplied by the beamline. For the full list of available capillaries, please see this page.
