Delete Samples

You may think you need to delete samples from the database. We’re very cautious around this topic so as to ensure we never lose sample metadata. Therefore, we strive to never delete a sample from the database.

It is 100% fine to just ignore a sample that is incorrect. A sample that is in “the box” (see this page) will never have data collections performed against it. It is also possible to modify samples that you have incorrectly created, rather than delete them.

If you have lots of samples that you need to ignore and you’d rather remove them from the box, ask your local contact to supply you with a refuse container called a dumpster. You will be able to move as many samples as you like from the box to the dumpster: clearing out the unwanted samples from the box.
